Your privacy matters. This page explains the information Global App Craft may collect, why it’s used and how you can contact me about it. I’ve tried to keep it clear rather than bury the important details in legal language.
Global App Craft is an independent UK software review and app development website run by Ben. I am responsible for the personal information processed for the website’s operation and enquiries. You can reach me through the Contact page, including for data protection questions.
When you contact me
The contact form asks for your name, email address, enquiry type and message. I use this information to read and reply to your enquiry, provide help where appropriate and keep a record of relevant follow ups. My usual lawful basis is legitimate interests in handling enquiries, or steps taken at your request before a contract.
The form is provided by Contact Form 7. It normally sends your message to the site’s administrator by email rather than saving it in a separate submissions database. Messages can be stored in the receiving mailbox and its backups. Please don’t send passwords, payment card numbers or unnecessary sensitive information.
Submitting a contact form doesn’t subscribe you to marketing emails.
Website analytics
Google Analytics 4 is connected to the website through Site Kit by Google. If its tracking is enabled for your visit in accordance with the site’s cookie choices, it may process information such as pages viewed, interactions, approximate location and technical details of the device or browser. I use aggregate trends to understand which pages are useful and where the site needs improvement, not to sell individual visitor profiles.
Google Search Console provides information about search visibility. Reports are generally aggregated. The site’s analytics and consent configuration is being reviewed as part of the launch, and the choices offered to visitors should reflect the tracking actually in use.
Cookies and other storage
Essential website functions and security tools may use cookies or similar storage. Analytics can also use cookies or identifiers. Some of these technologies require your consent under UK privacy rules; the limited statistics exception has particular conditions, including a simple way to object. I aim to offer appropriate controls through a cookie management tool.
You can also adjust cookie settings in your browser. Disabling essential cookies may interfere with parts of the website. Where the website offers cookie preferences, those are the most direct way to change your choices.
Hosting, security and technical logs
The site is hosted with Hostinger and uses WordPress. Hosting, caching and security services may process IP addresses, browser information, request times and security events. This helps deliver pages, troubleshoot errors and prevent misuse. The usual lawful basis is legitimate interests in operating and protecting the website.
Newsletter subscriptions
I plan to offer a Global App Craft email newsletter using MailerLite. If you choose to subscribe once it’s available, I’ll use the email address you provide to send the updates you requested. You will be able to unsubscribe from marketing emails. I won’t add contact form enquiries to a newsletter without a separate valid basis.
Affiliate links and software I sell
Some pages may contain affiliate links. Those relationships are disclosed clearly on the relevant pages. If affiliate tracking is introduced, this policy and the cookie controls should be updated to explain the providers and technologies in use. My own apps have their own relevant product and privacy information, where needed.
Service providers and international processing
Third parties can process information to provide services for the site, including Hostinger, Google and providers used for security, email delivery or contact forms. Some services may process information outside the UK. Any transfer of personal information must use an appropriate lawful mechanism and safeguard, as applicable. Provider terms and processing arrangements should be checked for the services actually activated.
How long information is retained
I keep ordinary enquiries for as long as reasonably needed to respond and deal with follow up questions, with a proposed general review and deletion period of around 12 months after an enquiry closes, unless a legitimate business, legal or security reason requires longer. This retention process needs to be checked against the mailbox and backup settings in use. Security records and analytics information follow the relevant operational needs and configured provider retention periods. I won’t keep personal information simply because it might be useful one day.
Your rights
UK data protection law gives people rights in relation to their personal information, subject to the circumstances. These can include access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and, where applicable, portability or withdrawal of consent.
If you’d like to ask a question or exercise a right, use the Contact page and choose the privacy option. I’ll review the request and respond in accordance with the applicable rules.
You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes to this policy
I’ll update this page as the website’s actual services and practices change. The date at the top shows when the wording was last revised.
